HPMS Student Anthology

Writing is one of my strengths. In 6th grade we created an Anthology of our poems and short stories. I helped create and publish this book on iBooks, and it included my story with original cover art, The Accident.

Acting and Skit Writing

Making skits and videos is something I love to do for projects. Each year we celebrate our graduating class by making a film for them. I helped write the skits and loved acting in last year’s film!

Project Based Learning

In my middle school, PBL is a big part of our curriculum. We work in themed units and are able to research and explore questions we are passionate about. Below is a project I created for our Bridges unit.

Color Illusions

A study in connections

In our Bridges unit, I was curious ‘What drives the brain to make certain choices?’ This brought me to research optical illusions and how our brain understands these images. I created a webpage as my project to share my findings. Psychology and the brain continue to be an interest of mine that I hope to explore more in high school.

Balloon Launch

Each year we launch a weather balloon into space. This past year, we turned it into an overnight trip, and I was part of the Project Management team responsible for handling all of the planning, packing and activities. I also took part in the ‘chase’ where we tracked and recovered the balloon.

Basketball

I am super passionate about basketball and have been playing since 4th grade when my school first started their team. Now I am participating with Coach Bobby Hurley and go to basketball camp every summer in Serbia when visiting my family. Below is a clip of a great shot I made to help win the game, as well as a film from our very first game.
